For all the obsessing G'raha Tia did about heroes and wanting to be a hero, Crystal Exarch was preparing to die as a villain in everyone’s eyes (well, except maybe for Urianger’s). I have feelings about this.

The Exarch cares more about the Warrior of Light than his own place in history. He is willing for the Source and the First to both remember him as a traitor if it means the Warrior lives to carry on bringing Hope to people.
G'raha Tia, when you met him, wanted so much to be even a footnote in a hero’s story that he was willing to constantly throw himself into harm’s way in the Crystal Tower and the World of Darkness. His biggest dream was to be remembered as someone the Warrior of Light found helpful.
And now as the Crystal Exarch he’s willing to throw his dream away, to be known as the worst of villains, just for you. Just because he knows there’s only one way to get rid of the Light and he wants you to not feel guilty over his death. Because he knows losing another friend might just be the last push that breaks him.
But the death of a villain? A death that would end the Eighth Umbral Calamity and free the Scions to return hom? You might mourn him briefly, or wonder what made him so willing to double-cross the world, but then you’d move on.
God I have so many feelings about this awkward cat.
When we admit people to the hospital, we ask if they have any particular anxieties, concerns, or fears they want us to know, and most people say no or they’ll say something related to their disease process or some logistics about being admitted. But one guy said he was worried about the ghosts of people who died in the hospital. I don’t know how actionable that is, but by god do I respect it as an answer

(I’ve decided thanks to the Dawntrail reveal, they need to be friends, and only showing extreme vulnerability will undo the damage done by the Toad Incident… it’s an inelegant solution, but then, their relationship is not pretty :D)
